Makeup Techniques which turned from Trend to Staple... and we didn't even realize!
Makeup is something with so many uses. It is a way to express ourselves, people all over the world use makeup but everybody uses it in a different, unique way. Sometimes a certain way of using makeup becomes very popular and turns into a trend when everybody tries to recreate the technique themselves.
In fact some techniques become so popular that they are suddenly a part of our daily routines and we don't even realize we are using the technique now.
Here I have some makeup techniques which took the internet by storm when they were introduced and now they are a staple in most makeup routines.
1. Winged Liner
Winged eyeliner has be in since a long long time, 400 BC to be exact. It was more of a Egyptian royal family thing, apparently the more the makeup the higher the status. But it slowly faded away as the years passed.
It started coming back in the 1950s, but it was mostly just used by the celebrities. The average woman didn't prefer wearing it on a daily basis.
The trend was also replaced for sometime with a smudgier liner.
It was not until 2010 that it came back into action and from then till now it has progressed its way to now being a staple for a lot of people.
2. Chiseling
Shaping the face with contour and brightening certain parts with highlighter was used in theaters back in the day so the audience could understand the expressions and when the lighting wasn't good in the theater.
In the 1920s it was used by the actors to accentuate the face, highlighter was still used as artificial lighting. It remained an industry only thing until 2010.
In 2012 Kim Kardashian tweeted a picture of before and after contour face. This was a turning point for the makeup world.
Since then contouring and highlighting aka snatching the face has been everywhere and also a staple for a big amount of population.
3. Less is More
There was a time when full glam and a matte face was everywhere, and don't get me wrong it still is. But recently, there are so many people trying out the less is more method.
People are trying out sheer foundations, tons of moisturizer, some glossy lips and a sheer wet looking highlight. Sometimes some freckles are added to this look too. Everybody has been a skincare person and making their skin looking more dewy.
It looks extra good when a sunkissed selfie is taken with the look.
But I'm sure the full glam is going nowhere.
4. Sick Blush
There no other name that best fits this look than sick blush. This look recently hit the internet as a part of an E-girl look and everybody has been doing it ever since.
This look is very cute and it makes you look sick without actually being sick. Why would anybody want to look like that you ask? This picture will answer your question.
E-girls are everywhere right now and have made blush a lot famous. There was a time when nobody cared about blush, but now it is suddenly the it-product.
This all started in Japan, where people started putting blush on the undereyes.
The sick on purpose look is by far my fav and probably the easiest to pull off, and it makes you look like a doll, cute! Isn't it?
